North East SPCA hosting fundraising trade show

A local trade fair is taking place this weekend in Melfort.

The North East SPCA Fall into Winter trade fair is being held at the Kerry Vickar Centre Nov. 9 from 10 a.m to 4 p.m.

The event will feature about 50 vendors selling a variety of goods and services.

“Chalk Couture, which is a new type of art and they have classes here that we do as fundraisers. We also have Melfort Comfy Kennels which is the pet hotel in town here, and we have Small Print, which you can get paw prints done of your own dogs on necklaces,” said North East SPCA Harry and Eve Vickar Shelter Manager Kristy Mason.

She said the trade show is a great chance to get an early start on your Christmas shopping.

“There will be a lot of handmade things that will make it a bit more unique for people,” said Mason.

Lunch is available, with drinks, desserts, soup and a bun, smokies and hot dogs.

Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) in Melfort is also holding a purse auction during the trade show.
