Apr 3, 2019 | 12:03 PM

After a year of preparation, the Town of Tisdale is going to host the Telus Cup Western Regionals this week.

The Tisdale Trojans will play midget league champions from Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Northern Ontario from April 4 to 7.

Communications Manager Rob Pollon said the weekend will feature more than just hockey

“The OT Lounge will have a live feed of the games on so if you’re just in there and hanging out, you can also watch the game in there,” Pollon said.

The lounge will also feature music from Brad Johner and the Johner Boys on Thursday evening. On Friday night, there will be entertainment from Major Distraction and then Last Mountain Revival plays on Saturday night.

Pollon said the opportunity to host this event will be a big boost for entire northeast region.

“We’re expecting it to really take the whole northeast in and showcase the midget AAA game that we are lucky enough to have up here, “Pollon said.

Tickets sales are going well according to Pollon.

The Trojans begin their Western Regionals schedule against the Thunder Bay Kings from Northern Ontario at the Tisdale RECplex Thursday night at 7:30 p.m.

A welcome breakfast will kick-off the event at 9 a.m. on Thursday morning at the John Baron Auditorium. An awards banquet will also be held on Saturday night in the auditorium as well.
