Lawrence “Guy” Purdy, beloved husband of Judy Purdy, passed away on Sunday, January 6th, 2019 at the age of 69 years. Guy also leaves to cherish his memory two step-children, Dara (Chris) McMunn of Star City, and Jason (Cindy) Roth of Calgary; six grandchildren, Jade, Cassidy, Daniel, Caitlyn, Morgan and Evan; two sisters-in-law Patti Purdy of Melfort and Sylvia Bertsch of Medicine Hat and brother-in-law Perry (Sharon) Reich of Medicine Hat. 
Guy was predeceased by his parents, Clare and Ethel Purdy, two brothers Merle and Ray Purdy, and one sister-in-law Loretta Reich, and one brother-in-law, Leo Bertsch. 
Guy was born in Melfort on December 24th, 1949, where he lived his entire life. Guy’s career was cattle. He auctioned them and raised them. His other passion was his grandkids; taking them to the ranch, sitting around the campfire before bedtime, looking at the stars in the sky and listening to coyotes howling in the distance. 
He made many good friends and happy memories from his dealings with cattle owners as well as neighbors, who all enjoyed his sense of humour. 
At his request there will be a memorial service for family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to North Central Health Care Foundation at www.nchcf.ca.
