Jim Conacher

James Smith Conacher passed away peacefully at Parkland Place on November 22, 2018 at the age of 86 years.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Yvonne, daughter Cindy (Wade) Babcock, grandchildren Patrick (Lori), Marc (Dana), and several great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his mother Cecelia, and a son David James.
Jim was born August 29, 1932 and was raised on the farm of his grandparents John and Mary Conacher at Fairy Glen. He attended school in Fairy Glen and in 1950 began farming. In 1954, he married Yvonne, daughter of John and Martha Jung of Bagley.
Jim was involved in community activities which included the Fairy Glen Co-op, Wheat Pool, councillor for the RM of Willow Creek, pest control officer, the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation, and the Melfort Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. He loved fishing, hunting and trapping. He and Yvonne operated a fly-in fishing camp in Northern Saskatchewan for several years. They also enjoyed travelling to many distant locations.
Jim loved Old Time Dancing and often accompanied musicians with his “spoon” playing. He also enjoyed singing in the Carrot River Valley Lutheran Church Choir.
Jim had many dear friends and neighbors, and the family would like to thank them all for their kindness and support.
