Garth Townsend

Garth Townsend was born in Nipawin, SK August 2, 1943, son of Fred and Eyleen Townsend. Garth had a happy childhood living in the Mossy Glen District. He attended High School in Choiceland. Garth farmed his Grandpa Townsends farm for several years, eventually selling the farm and moving to Melfort and working at Melgreen Equipment. His most recent years he spent working at the Melfort Mall. Garth enjoyed his time in Melfort and drinking coffee with his buddies and hanging out with the residents of Legion Place.
In spite of having various illnesses, Garth had a happy life with the help of a lot of people.
Garth spent his final days in Chateau Providence in St. Brieux. Here he received excellent care and consideration.
Cherishing Garth’s memory are his sister Dorothy (Earl) Long of London, ON; niece Melodie (Gary) Vaughan and their sons: Colin and Christopher of Ajax, ON and nephew Tim Long (Miranda) of Los Angeles. Garth is also survived by his Aunt Phyliss Townsend, Aunt Hazel Davis and several cousins and their spouses and families.
He was predeceased by his parents Fred and Eyleen Townsend in 1981 and his sister Aldonna in 1997.
