Tisdale to be featured at Saskatchewan Rush game

Nov 21, 2019 | 1:00 PM

The town of Tisdale will be in the spotlight during the Saskatchewan Rush’s home opener.

The Rush will open the National Lacrosse League (NLL) regular season Dec. 14 at home against the New England Black Wolves on Co-op Field at SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon. Tisdale will be highlighted as part of the Hometown Spotlight Series.

Tisdale CAO Brad Hvidston told northeastNOW they are thrilled to be a focus during the game.

“We’re extremely honoured and pleased that [the Rush] have picked Tisdale as their home opener for their [Hometown Spotlight] Series,” Hvidston said.

He said he recently received word Tisdale would be highlighted at the game from a couple of Rush representatives.

The event is also an opportunity for the town of Tisdale to do some self-promotion.

“It’s a great thing for our whole community,” Hvidston said.

The Saskatchewan Rush explained on their website “[T]he Hometown Spotlight Series will take an in-depth look into the communities and people that make our province great. Special guests from each community will be recognized at the game along with video highlights on what makes their community unique.”

The Hometown Spotlight Series will focus on the City of Prince Albert at the Rush’s home game against the Toronto Rock Feb. 29.
