Melfort Fire Department sees up to 250 participants and $10,000 raised during Wing Ding
The Wing Ding serves as the Melfort Fire Department’s largest fundraiser of the year, and it didn’t disappoint in 2019.
According to the secretary treasurer of the Melfort Fire Department, Lt. Graham Calow, up to 250 people stopped by the Kerry Vickar Centre on Saturday, Dec. 14 to play bingo, poker, and try their luck at raffle draws.
Calow said the department raised somewhere between $8,000 and $10,000 from the 69th annual Wing Ding.
“We set up for about 200 people to come play Bingo and at 1 p.m. when the doors opened, we were scrounging every crook and cranny of the KVC trying to find more tables and chairs,” he said. “We had every table full and we needed more room.”
