Humboldt Good Neighbour Store donates $320,000 for local organizations
Christmas arrived a few weeks early for some organizations in the Humboldt area.
The Humboldt Good Neighbour Store raised $320,000 in 2018, and on Monday, Dec. 3 disbursed the total to 39 organizations, a good chunk of them being in the Humboldt area.
Maureen Doetzel, the Humboldt Good Neighbour Store’s chair, said the store receives donated items from residents who no longer have a use for it, before they get sorted, cleaned, and priced by volunteers before they leave the doors.
“We feel pretty proud of ourselves of what we accomplished again this year,” Doetzel told northeastNOW. “We always think ‘this is probably going to be the highest we’re going to give’ and every year it just has more. It never gets old.”
