Putting the fun in fundraiser with NEOSS Cupid Comedy Night

A new fundraiser for North East Outreach and Support Services (NEOSS) is focusing on relationships and humour.

The NEOSS Cupid’s Comedy Night will be held at the Kerry Vickar Centre in Melfort Friday, Feb. 14.

Entertainment will be provided by comedian Nour Hadidi, and the meal is being done by Kristi’s Catering of Archerwill.

“We’re going to have stuffed pork loin, mashed potatoes, veggies, caesar salad, spinach salad, some pasta salad, some garlic bread, and…a wonderful dessert bar that I’m sure will be very special because it’s Valentine’s Day,” NEOSS Executive Director Louise Schweitzer said.

Tickets are $40 each, and includes supper and entertainment. There will also be a bar at the event. You can purchase tickets at the NEOSS office, and Schweitzer said they now have a point of sale machine and can take debit or credit cards on-site.

“Come out, have a few laughs, and do something different for Valentine’s with your sweetie,” Schweitzer said.

She told northeastNOW one of NEOSS’ goals is to promote healthy relationships.

“Healthy relationships lead to healthy families for generations, so we encourage you to come out…and foster a healthy relationship, enjoy yourselves as a couple…have some laughs, because laughter is always good for the soul,” Schweitzer said.

The evening will have some prizes and will also feature a silent auction.

The event will serve as a fundraiser for NEOSS’ programming budget, including the domestic violence shelter, treehouse, and outreach services.
