Davis Whitehead found guilty of first-degree murder
The jury of the Davis Whitehead reached a verdict.
On Thursday, Nov. 8, Whitehead was found guilty of first-degree murder in the Melfort Court of Queen’s Bench for the death of Ramsey Whitehead at Red Earth Cree Nation in December 2016.
Justice Heather MacMillan-Brown sentenced Whitehead to life in person with no eligibility for parole until after 25 years.
According to the testimony of Cpl. Jason Brown, who works in the Forensic Identification Section of the Saskatchewan RCMP, Ramsey Whitehead’s body was found with two stab wounds in his chest and one on his cheek on Red Earth Cree Nation a few hours after the incident.
