Humboldt Chamber announces nominees for Mark of Excellence Awards

The Humboldt Chamber of Commerce’s Mark of Excellence awards take place on March 18, and the nominees were officially announced.

There are over 30 nominees this year in 10 categories. Chamber Executive Director Brent Fitzpatrick said he’s very impressed by this year’s crop of nominees, especially those in the New Business, Growth and Expansion, and Entrepreneur categories as they take up over half of the total nominees.

“It really does say something about, even during this economic trying time that we seem to be in,” Fitzpatrick told northeastNOW. “There’s still lots of confidence in the Humboldt region to be able to have businesses invest their time and their money into providing goods and services for people.”

Other categories this year include Community Merit, Community Involvement, Inclusive Employer, Safety Leadership, Marketing, Service, and the Youth Involvement Award.

Fitzpatrick added it’s not just Humboldt being represented and honoured.

“We’ve got two from Watson, another from LeRoy,” he said. “The businesses that are coming and are starting aren’t just in Humboldt. They’re also in surrounding areas.”

On top of all of the awards that will be handed out in March at the awards banquet in Humboldt, the Chamber will also induct Don and Murray Brockman to the Business Hall of Fame.
