Horizon School Division sends out memo in response to COVID-19

While schools will remain open amidst the COVID-19 outbreak, Horizon School Division (HSD) will be instituting protocols to ensure student and staff safety.

Today, the division sent out a memo to staff, families, and media with their response to coronavirus.

Until further notice, schools will not be holding large-scale school assemblies of more than 50 people, and community rentals are cancelled. All internal Horizon School Division professional development opportunities such as in-person Collaborative Learning Day and in-person Directors Leadership Team meetings are postponed. Professional development opportunities will be supported via web or phone-based collaborations, where possible.

Upcoming field trips will be either cancelled or postponed until further notice.

Parent-teacher interviews remain scheduled. The division encourages a phone-based meeting between teachers and parents, but doors will not be closed if parents elect an in-person meeting.
