COVID-19 won’t affect garbage and recycling service in Nipawin

Garbage and recycling pickup will remain the same in the Town in Nipawin, even during the province’s State of Emergency amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

April 6 to 10 will be garbage week, with the following week being recycling pickup, and continuing the pattern on a rotating schedule.

However, Nipawin’s Chief Administrative Officer Barry Elliott said the town wants residents to be extra cautious while dealing with their waste.

“We’re concerned and always looking out for the safety of the contractor and their crew,” Elliott said. “Make sure there’s no debris that’s contaminated in any way and everything is in the bin, and the bins are properly closed. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we work through this, and the diligence of our contractor in keeping the service going uninterrupted.”
