Carrot River’s public works foreman has resigned and town council has announced his replacement.

Milton Wood has been with The Town of Carrot River for nearly 19 years and his last day will be Friday.

“I’ve really enjoyed looking after people and just going to work every day and making sure everyone was safe,” Wood said. “It was time to move on. People in town have been good. It’s not a job. It’s a lifestyle. Things need to be fixed and you try and stay ahead of it as best you can. You’ve got to enjoy what you’re doing.”

Wood has accepted a job offer to work for Associated Engineering in Saskatoon.

“It’s basically the same as what I do now but it’s for the engineering firm instead,” Wood said.

Raymond Teale will be the new public works foreman for the Town of Carrot River and will start Monday.

Teale has more than 15 years of management and leadership experience with Chevron Canada and Chevron International.

Teal was previously the director of public works for the Town of Unity and has over 30 years of experience with water treatment. Teal will start May 10.

Collin Field has also been hired as Carrot River’s Public Works and Utilities supervisor.

Wood said he has never met Teale or Field.

“I just wish the new people all the best,” Wood added. “Hopefully things work out for them.”
