It is with sadness and love that the family of Joe Preete announce his passing in the early hours
of June 3rd, 2021.
Joe was welcomed into the world in 1938 by his parents, Louis and Leona Preete. He was the
youngest of 8 children.
In 1965 Joe became a barber and opened a shop with his cousin, Pat Copeland, in Melfort. He
continued in his trade until 2017.
Some of his favourite hobbies included golf, fishing, snowmobiling and getting together with
friends to play cards.
A family man, the greatest joy and accomplishment in Joe’s life was being a father and grandfather. He raised his son, Trevis, to know that family, good friends, a helping hand, a kind heart, and the power of your word are most important.
The last few years were hard on him. His body just didn’t want to do what he wanted. He spent the last year, first in Newmarket Place, Tisdale and that last couple of weeks in Parkland Place in Melfort.
The family would like to give thanks to his caregivers in both homes and the good friends that were able to visit even through the Covid rules. In remembrance of Joe, we ask that you share memories of him often and please consider a donation to Parkland Place Auxiliary Melfort (PO Box 639 Melfort, SK S0E 1A0). A Private Family Service will held on June 15th, 2021 at 1:00 PM Those wishing to leave condolences for the family or watch the service may visit www.fedusiakfuneralchapel.com.
Arrangements entrusted to Fedusiak Funeral Chapel & Crematorium Ltd., Melfort, SK (306)752-3838.
