Conrad Adolph Thoresen, 79, of Melfort, passed away on June 19, 2021 in Melfort.
Conrad enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting with his family and his travels with Mae north to the Yukon and Alaska. He was an avid hockey fan stemming from his love of playing hockey when he was younger. He took joy in watching and cheering his grandchildren playing sports.
He was an animal lover and always held a special place in his heart for dogs and cats, which he has 3 cats that he leaves behind (Tigger, Sammy and Pretty). At their home, Conrad and Mae enjoyed bird watching, and feeding many feathered friends as well as any other strays that entered their yard, including rabbits and deer.
Conrad was born in Prince Albert to Adolph Thoresen and Juliette Desormeau on April 12th 1942. Conrad had innumerable skills and worked as a welder, miner, truck driver until he began working as a Corrections Officer for Prince Albert Correctional Center until his retirement in 2007 where he made many friends from co-workers.
Conrad is preceded in death by his parents Adolph Thoresen and Juliette (Desormeau), sisters Lorraine, Alma, Brother Lorne, brother-in-law Andy Dryka, and Sister-in-law Joan Thoresen and infant son in 1966.
Conrad is survived by his wife Mae (Bird), Children: Darren (Charlene), Kelly (Deanna), Keri (Kelly). Grandchildren, Coleton (Bree-Lynn), Caitlyn, Paige, Preston and Holden and Great Grand-daughter Emma, and Mother of his Children Lorraine, Sister Julie Dryka, Brother Olie, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and Mae’s children, Sheila (Lloyd), Rhonda (Bruce) and Vickie, along with many children and grandchildren.
Due to restrictions, a private funeral service will be held on June 29, 2021 at 2:00 PM. The service will also be streamed online for Family and friends who are unable to attend in person.
