Crash near Foam Lake claims life of Whitehorse man

An investigation is underway into the fatal single vehicle collision at Foam Lake on Friday afternoon.

Foam Lake and Wynyard RCMP were called to the scene at around 3:45 p.m. on Highway 16.

The driver, who was from Whitehorse, Yukon was pronounced dead at the scene.The other man in the vehicle received minor injuries

The investigation has determined that the vehicle was travelling westbound when it left the roadway and entered a nearby creek.

Highway 16 was reduced to one lane of traffic during the initial investigation. Traffic restrictions were lifted the next morning.
