Glen Michael Gerski

Glen Michael Gerski was the second eldest boy of six children born to John and Lois Gerski on March 11, 1962.
He grew up on the family farm by Resource and took his education in Melfort.
Glen worked and lived on the family farm as a mixed grain farmer and later on he worked as a bartender and bouncer at Chelly’s Bar, where he made many friends over the years with whomever he met and if you ever needed anything you bet he had your back!!
After the closing of the bar, he worked at various places but enjoyed his many travels across the prairie provinces as a pilot truck driver for Buckinghams’, hauling hopper cones until his battle with diabetes took his life in a different direction and he had to have his right leg amputated. After this, Glen had another major health scare which forced him to move into Diefenbaker Place in Melfort. Here he continued to make more friends until his passing on September 17, 2021.
Glen was a great big brother to his younger siblings; helping with homework, giving rides up and down the highway on his motorcycle, taking us for rides in the grain truck to the field and in the winter giving us rides or pulling us on a sled behind the ski-doo, and even times playing hockey or broomball on the driveway.
Glen enjoyed hunting, coffee with friends and was a good cook and loved to bbq; he even stood out in a rainstorm just to finish cooking for his family and made an amazing macaroni salad. He also enjoyed visiting with many where he spent many nights as a gatekeeper for the local Melfort Mustangs Hockey.
Glen is survived by his brothers: Gary (Dawn) of Melfort, SK, Garnet of Melfort, SK, George (Lori) of Vermilion, AB; his sisters: Brenda of Melfort, SK, Bonnie (Walter) of Bentley, AB; nephews: Michael, Jon, Tyler, Ryan, Shawn, Shane; nieces: Jasmine, Jessie-Lynn, Breanna, Victoria, Bailey, Stephanie, Shelby; great nieces and nephews: Jordan, Josh, Tyson, Lexus, Katana, Kane as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Glen will be forever loved and dearly missed by everyone who knew him.
