The Melfort Mustangs have added their most recent commitment, for the upcoming 2023-24 season.

Nolan Patterson, a 2005-born forward, will join the organization, later this year.

As for now, the Rose Valley, Sask. product, will continue to suit up with the Prince Albert Mintos.

Through 29 games, the 6’1″, 170lbs forward has scored two goals for and five points for the Mintos.

“Nolan is a big, strong, power forward that plays the game with a competitive edge that will be welcomed to our team next season,” said Mustangs head coach and general manager Trevor Blevins.

Patterson has previous experience with the green and blue, having suited up for Melfort once this season, when they took on their bitter rival Nipawin Hawks, back on Dec. 16.

Prior to this year, he played two seasons with the North East U18 AA club, totalling 40 games overall.

In that span, he scored 28 times and added 26 helpers for 54 points.

He did most of that damage in 2021-22, leading the team in 22 goals, 19 assists, and 41 points.
