Strong third period lifts Hawks past Humboldt
The Hawks used three third period goals Friday night to propel them to a 4-3 win over Humboldt Friday in Nipawin.
Hosting the Broncos for the first time since October the Hawks were looking for their first win over Humboldt since early in the 2021 – 2022 season. In the only other meeting of the year at the Centennial Arena the Broncos routed Nipawin 11-4.
Friday’s game was tighter throughout much to the applause of the 510 people in attendance.
The Broncos got on the board first, Ben Kotylak scored the Broncos’ ninth shorthanded goal of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) season late in the first period giving the visitors a 1-0 lead after one period.
