UPDATE: Melfort RCMP release details on two crimes from last week

UPDATE: Melfort RCMP arrested 25-year-old Blaze Romeo Rynelle Ahpay of Melfort in relation to the gas station robbery. Ahpay reportedly was armed when he entered a Melfort gas station, threatened the employee, and left with cash and cigarettes.

Ahpay now faces three charges: robbery with offensive weapon, disguised with intent to commit offence, and possession of weapon for the purpose of committing an offence. Ahpay is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Wednesday.

They saw a vehicle with an expired license plate and pulled it over, before determining that the driver was impaired.

Officers then found and seized a loaded sawed-off shotgun and illegal drug paraphernalia after searching the vehicle.

Both men in the vehicle were arrested on the scene.

James Dreaver, 36, from Muskoday First Nation is charged with eight separate counts, which include: driving under the influence, possession of a dangerous weapon, and transporting the weapon in a careless manner.

Meanwhile, Adam Primeau, 36, from Muskoday First Nation is charged with six separate counts, which include obstructing a peace officer, possession of a weapon and ammo, and possession of a weapon in a vehicle.

Both appeared in Nipawin Provincial Court on Mar. 29.

As for the second crime, RCMP said a gas station in Melfort was robbed last Friday.

Just after 11 p.m., police received a report of the robbery on Saskatchewan Avenue.

A man, who was armed with a knife, entered the business, threatened the employee, and left with cash and cigarettes.

The man fled on foot, before heading east on Sask. Ave.

Officers immediately began looking for the suspect, with help from the Saskatchewan RCMP Police Dog Services, however, he has not been found.

He is described as wearing all-black clothing and a black face mask, as well as having neck tattoos.

Police continue to investigate and ask anyone who recognizes the man, or has information about the crime, to please report it.
