Doris Elizabeth Breker, 94 years old, died peacefully in Saskatoon Saskatchewan on October 12, 2023 surrounded by the love of her daughter after several months of failing health.
Doris was born on July 20, 1929 to Joseph and Pauline Dauk in Humboldt Saskatchewan and received her elementary education in Annaheim, Saskatchewan, then high school education in Bruno, Saskatchewan.
On June 27, 1950 Doris married Alfred Breker and together had four children; James, Lawrence, Vincent and Donna.
Doris was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Pauline, her brother Erwin, her stepfather Frank Dauk, her half-siblings: John, Herman, Greg and Paul Dauk, her husband Alfred Breker, her son Vincent Breker and her great grandson Owen Breker.
Doris is survived by her brother Joseph Dauk, half-siblings: Francis, Helen, Florian, Margaret and Theresa Dauk, sons James (Shirley) and Lawrence Breker (Ross), daughter Donna Holaday (Kerry), granddaughter Jill Breker (Paul), grandsons: Evan Breker (Michelle), Brendan Holaday (Andrea), Jared Holaday (Cora), great grandson Isaac Breker, and great granddaughters Sophie and Brooklyn Holaday.
Doris loved beauty in all its forms; in nature’s trees, flowers and birds, in classical music, in art, in books, in clothes, in a table setting or meal and all things she touched. Doris would play piano, sing in a choral group, paint a canvas and tat beautiful doilies.
Doris loved being with family and friends; socializing and visiting were gold to her. Keep talking was Doris’ mantra that seemed to awaken even the most introverted.
Doris looked forward to her summer home at Greenwater Provincial Park from opening in spring to closing in fall. Family, neighbors and friends were drawn to her happy place and her company.
Heartbreakingly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
