Harold was born at the Melfort Union Hospital on Sept 10, 1946.
Harold attended the Williowdale public school till grade 10. He then moved on to being a hand at a few farms and then got on at Trawin Seeds. This is where he was employed when he met Marg Bryson. They were first introduced to each other at the Star City Roller rink. They hit it off and were married on Feb 12, 1966. During their marriage they had two girls born in Melfort Debbie and Holly. Shortly after the family moved to Thompson, MB, and Patti then joined the family.
A few years later they were divorced. Shortly after, Harold moved back to Melfort to be with his family. This is where he had become friends with Denna. This gradually changed as the time went and shortly after they purchased their first home. On Sept 9, 1988 they made it official and got married in their home. With that the family grew, and dad finally had some boys. David and Mark became his stepsons. Shortly after they gained 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Sadly, Harold lost his Denna after 30 years. He went on dealing with stomach cancer for 5 years. Still with the support of family and friends.
The battle against the cancer came to an end on November 18, 2023.
Harold is going to be dearly missed by all family members and friends.
A Memorial Service for Harold was held from the Melfort United Church on Friday, November 24, 2023 at 1:00 PM with Reverend Jonathan Worrell officiating. The interment followed in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
Friends so wishing may make memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society.
