Crash near Birch Hills sends three to hospital

Saskatchewan RCMP are confirming a crash near Birch Hills Friday evening resulted in three people being sent to hospital.

The injuries were described as non-life threatening.

According to a social media post on Saturday by Birch Hills Fire and Rescue, crews arrived to find two vehicles had collided on Highway 3 resulting in one vehicle ending up on a approach and the other blocking a lane of traffic.

Crews then tended to patients in one vehicle until EMS and Birch Hills Medical First Responders arrived.

Fire crews assisted with extrication of all patients and maintained traffic control.

RCMP confirmed the driver and passenger of one vehicle and the driver (who was the sole occupant) of the other vehicle were taken to hospital.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
