Passing lanes open West of Humboldt

Nov 1, 2017 | 9:43 AM

Highway 5 west of Humboldt will soon be safer thanks to planned passing lanes.

The Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure spent $7.5 million to develop two different sets of lanes between the City of Humboldt and the Highway 2 and 5 junction.

“The growth of Saskatoon, Humboldt and the communities in between, combined with the strength of the Saskatchewan economy mean more traffic on Highway 5,” Highways and Infrastructure Minister David Marit stated in a news release Wednesday.

“Municipal governments, businesses, the public and other stakeholders have been calling for safety improvements for many, many years and our government is responding,” Marit said.
