Logging truck driver escapes fire unharmed

A truck used for hauling logs is now a charred shell of its former self.
Shortly after 2 p.m. Friday, the Smeaton Fire Department responded to a logging truck on fire, just east of Smeaton on Highway 55.
By the time fire crews arrived the truck was already engulfed in flames. Nearly 90 minutes later, the flames were extinguished.
The driver of the truck was able to escape unharmed.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
