Trio of Hawks among weekly award honours

Nipawin Hawks’ goaltender Jake Anthony made three starts this past week winning all of them.

His play earned him the goaltender of the week award in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. The 18-year-old stopped 20/21 shots in a win over Estevan Tuesday. In back to back starts against LaRonge on the weekend he allowed three goals on 45 shots. Overall this season, the Grande Prairie product is 6-2-1 with a 1.76 goals against average and a .933 save percentage.

Hawks’ forward Brandan Arnold was named runner-up for player of the week. Nipawin defenseman Josh McDougall was runner-up in the defenseman category.
