JASON KENNEY CRUISES TO BYELECTION WIN
Jason Kenney, the former federal cabinet minister who now leads Alberta’s United Conservative Party, won a seat in the provincial legislature in a byelection last night. He captured 71 per cent of the vote in Calgary Lougheed, defeating six other candidates. Much of his victory speech was addressed to NDP Premier Rachel Notley, whom Kenney accused of practising “the politics of personal destruction.” Notley congratulated Kenney on Twitter, saying she looks forward to debating him.
