Investigation leads to charges against Melfort pair

Two Melfort residents are facing charges stemming from an investigation involving the Melfort RCMP and Prince Albert Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit.

Lawrence Buhay, 38, and Maury Nicholson, 18, are charged with possession of proceeds of crime, possession for the purpose of trafficking marijuana, possession for the purpose of trafficking crystal methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, and possession of cannabis resin.

The charges were laid Thursday. An undisclosed amount of cash and drugs were seized as a result of the investigation.

The suspects will appear in Melfort Provincial Court on Jan. 23.
