Mustangs hammer Hawks in season series finale

The Mustangs continued their dominance of Nipawin this season, routing the Hawks 9-2 Saturday night at the Northern Lights Palace.

The contest concluded the season series between the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) rivals. The Mustangs picked up eight of the nine possible wins between the pair.

Defenseman Loch Morrison led the way scoring once and adding four assists. Rock Ruschkowski scored his 14th and 15th goals of the season and picked up two assists. Tristen Elder scored once and provided three assists as well. Drew Warketine scored the overtime winning goal in Friday’s Mustang win. The Prince Albert product added two more goals Saturday and three points.

Holden Knights scored his first career goal in the win, Carson Albrecht and Eric McNeilly rounded out the Mustangs’ offensive onslaught. Logan Casavant and Michael Grant scored the Hawks’ goals.
