Tisdale Legion provides donation to air cadets

A Northeast Saskatchewan cadet group is benefitting from a recent donation by the Tisdale Legion.

During a commanding officer’s parade Feb. 28, the Tisdale Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron received $1,500 from Legion president Sam McAdam. Squadron Captain Stuart Scott said the troop will greatly benefit from the contribution.

“The Tisdale Legion has kind of been our unofficial sponsorship body for quite some time,” Scott said. “It feels great to have their support.”

The funds will be used to purchase a large tent and other camping gear for use by the cadets. Scott said the Legion also invites the cadets to a Remembrance Day service luncheon on annual basis as part of their partnership. A veteran speaks during the event every year, Scott said, and the interactions the cadets have with former military members just as important than the donation itself.
