Producers from northeast Saskatchewan learned about agronomy and marketing Wednesday during SaskWheat’s Think Wheat conference.

The two-day event took place in Weyburn Tuesday, and moved to Tisdale for the second day of discussions. SaskWheat Spokesperson Dallas Carpenter said the event is geared towards producers who are seeking new information as spring seeding looms.

“We present all the latest marketing and agronomy information that will hopefully help producers this growing season,” he said.

Some of the topics presented at the conference included global wheat marketing opportunities, plant disease and pests, exports, local outlooks on the upcoming growing season, and recent yield-growing studies. Also discussed were new wheat varieties, as well as wheat breeding and research.
