Apr 16, 2018 | 6:15 AM

The best-of-seven Canalta Cup series has now been tied at a game apiece, following Nipawin’s 4-1 win over Estevan Sunday night.

The Hawks jumped out to the early lead with a goal from Logan Casavant at the 5:29 mark of the first period. Brandon Arnold and Josh McDougall provided the assists.

The score would remain unchanged for nearly 20 minutes, until Nipawin’s Adam Beckman would find the back of the net, with help from Josh McDougall and Daven Smith.

Early in the third period, Estevan would pull within one but would be shut down for the remainder of the game.  Adam Beckman and Logan Casavant each scored additional
goals for the Hawks at the 11:27 and 18:01 marks. Hawks’ netminder Declan Hobbs had a fairly busy night, with 23 saves.
