Police investigating after axe strikes car

Police are investigating after a driver had an axe fly through the windshield of his vehicle earlier this month.

Humboldt RCMP are appealing to the public for information after the incident on May 16. A truck was hit by an ask near the community of Plunkett around 6:15 p.m. The axe came through the vehicle’s windshield, causing extensive damage to the truck and injured the driver.

Police say the vehicle was not roadworthy after the incident.

The male driver was treated on scene and taken to Saskatoon Hospital for further examination.

Mounties made several patrols near the area of the incident and so far there are no leads as to where the axe came from.
