U14 Spirits invited to elite tournament

The Melfort Spirits U14 team will face off against some of the best teams in Saskatchewan this weekend, as well as one team from New Zealand.
The Super 8 International Softball Super Series is underway in Saskatoon, and Spirits head coach Cheryl Hunt said it was a real honour to be invited to the tournament.
“It’s a real nod to the program we have in Melfort and the girls have been working really hard,” she said, adding the board of directors and the community have provided great support.
The Spirits play their first game Saturday at 8 a.m. against Saskatoon Raiders White. Hunt said the key to the team’s success will be consistent hitting.
