Melfort registration night part of busier facility season

As the outdoor temperature drops, the heat for indoor activities increase.

Nearly a dozen recreational kids groups covering sports, arts, religion, and scouts will fill Kerry Vickar Centre on Wednesday, Sept. 5 for Melfort’s city-wide registration night.

Ryan Danberg, the city’s community services director, told northeastNOW the number of kids groups on registration is around the same as previous years, but bookings for facilities look to be busier than usual.

“We can tell already from city bookings our facilities are going to be quite busier as school starts, sports kick up, and with other recreational activities around the community,” Danberg said.
