A crash on Highway 55 about five minutes east of Nipawin has resulted in a death.

One man has died after what Nipawin RCMP is calling a “vehicle vs. pedestrian” incident on Thursday Sept. 13 early in the morning.

Highway 55 is now open in both directions with emergency crews such as traffic collision reconstruction on the scene to assist with the RCMP's investigation.

Police encourage drivers to take alternate routes.

An RCMP media spokesperson told northeastNOW they’re hoping to gather a few more details and issue a follow-up release later.
