Rattie leads Oilers over Jets 7-3 to stay undefeated in exhibition play
EDMONTON — Ty Rattie is taking advantage of the opportunity currently presented.
Rattie had two goals and three assists and Connor McDavid added a goal and three helpers as the Edmonton Oilers remained undefeated in pre-season play with a 7-3 victory over the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday.
Rattie, a 25-year-old Calgary area native who has spent the bulk of his career in the minor leagues, now has four goals and seven points in two pre-season games as he tries to remain on the Oilers’ top line with McDavid, a position he showed promise in during a late-season call-up last year.
“Things are feeling really good,” said Rattie, who had nine points in 14 games last season. “I wish it was regular season and those points counted, but it is still a nice confidence booster.
