A man who brought a gun to court, has received a 48-month jail sentence.

Donald Schulz, 46, appeared Thursday at Court of Queens Bench in Melfort for a sentencing hearing.

The case dates back to last January. Schulz was scheduled to appear at Hudson Bay court to amend a conditional sentence order, and the court staff were tipped off he had a gun on him. Schulz was arrested shortly after without incident.

Schulz has about 45 months left to be served, given credit for his time in remand. Schulz entered guilty pleas last May to several charges including possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and carrying a weapon while attending a public meeting.
