New Denture Clinic Opens in Melfort Wellness Centre

Nov 2, 2018 | 1:52 PM

After some time without a denture clinic in Melfort, one has opened its doors in the Wellness Centre.

Melfort Denture Clinic opened its doors to the public on Thursday, Nov. 1, and one of the co-owners also runs a clinic in Tisdale. Daryl Kuny, owner of Kuny Denture Clinic said there’s been some demand for a clinic in Melfort.

“We’ve definitely noticed in our office in Tisdale that there have been a lot of people from Melfort wishing and hoping for an office right here in the city,” Kuny said. “Just between myself and another denturist named Kally Braaten, we decided to get together and collaborate and open an office here.”

Braaten is coming from the PA Denture and Implant Solutions Clinic in Prince Albert.

Kuny also said having a denturist in Melfort now allows those in outlying communities, such as Kinistino, Birch Hills, and St. Brieux to get to their clinic much easier.

The Wellness Centre opened in Melfort about a year ago, and there is opportunity for businesses to set up shop there. Community Development Manager with the City of Melfort, Brent Lutz said the clinic is a welcome site in Melfort.

“We’re certainly glad to see the denture clinic open, we’re glad to have that service available in Melfort once again,” Lutz said. “We’re certainly glad to see it locating in the Wellness Centre where it will be convenient for people that are already making trips to the Wellness Centre.”

Lutz hopes having the clinic open in the Wellness Centre will encourage other health-related businesses to open there as well.

Kuny said they will have some limited hours to begin, but he hopes that will change in the future.
