Rural Crime Watch underway in the R.M. of Humboldt

Nov 8, 2018 | 4:00 PM

A meeting held by a rural crime watch committee in the Rural Municipality of Humboldt 370 on Wednesday, Nov. 7 saw 15 new members join the crew.

The Rural Crime Watch 370 was established in early August 2018 and held another meeting in October before partnering with the Humboldt RCMP.

Dennie Lueke, co-chair of Rural Crime Watch 370, said the committee’s inspiration was to have a few more eyes and ears open for crime in the country side.

“The RCMP can only be in so many places at once,” Lueke said. “We don’t have a lot of crime, but we want to prevent crime, so the more people we can get out now the less chance we’re going to have of crime happening.”
