Two men charged with attempted murder in connection with a shooting at Montreal Lake were in court in Prince Albert today.

Wesley Eugene LaChance and Brandon Lee Corrigal had their cases set over until December 14. LaChance is charged with attempted murder, using a firearm in the commission of an offence, robbery, theft of a motor vehicle and uttering threats in relation to the Nov.19 incident. Corrigal is facing the same charges, along with one count of possession of a firearm while prohibited and breach of a court order.

RCMP announced the new charges Thursday. Both LaChance and Corrigal were already facing several charges, including fleeing police and possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition, in connection with the incident, which started at the Montreal Lake Cree Nation and ended just north of Prince Albert.

Trina Bird, 25, died in the shooting, and a 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound. Bird was found unresponsive in a vehicle near Prince Albert following a police chase and died at the scene.
