Tisdale Secret Santa for Seniors looking for gift donations

Dec 3, 2018 | 4:00 PM

Bringing joy to seniors who may be alone for Christmas.

Secret Santa for Seniors in the Tisdale area is looking to the community for donations of unwrapped gifts.

Organizer Courtney Bodnarchuk said the program serves a large number of people.

“Last year, we delivered a little over 300 gifts and it’s so heart warming and it’s just really a great feeling because it is hard to be forgotten about at Christmas I would imagine,” Bodnarchuk said. “We also try to spend some time and visit and just brighten their day, everyone needs a brighter day sometimes.”

Bodnarchuk said they are also in need of gift bag donations which can also be dropped off at North East Appliance Plus on Main Street.

A list of gift ideas has been compiled with the help of homecare and housing authority in Tisdale and can be found on the Secret Santa for Seniors, Tisdale Area Facebook page.

“We get a count of how many men and women are home it doesn’t matter if they are in a nursing home, if they are a senior and they are alone we want to deliver them a gift,” Bodnarchuk said.

Gifts will be collected until the week before Christmas.
