In just two months, the Mark of Excellence Awards will take place in Humboldt.

The Executive Director of the Humboldt and District Chamber of Commerce, Brent Fitzpatrick, said this year will be very exciting as the event is celebrating 20 years.

"That really is kind of indicative of the strength and the value that these awards have got, they have survived for two decades pretty much untouched," Fitzpatrick said. "Some slight changes in some of the categories but not very much."

The awards event is an oppotunity to recognize outstanding businesses in the Humboldt area.

Award nominations are open on the Humboldt Chamber website or they can be dropped off at the chamber office.

"They (nomiinations) are actually doing very well and i'm quite excited about the variety," Fitzpatrick said. "There's a lot of new businesses that are nominated this year over previoius ones that I've seen so that's exciting."

Fitzpatrick said if someone wants to make a nomination annonymously they can do that as well.

"Just indicate to us that you don't want your name known and when we do contact the nominee we won't pass along who nominated them," Fitzpatrick said.

Tickets for the event go on sale at the end of the month.

Nominess will be released closer to the event that takes place in March.
