Local students get scholarship funding from BHP

BHP has announced the recipients of $75,000 in scholarships to students in communities surrounding the Jansen Project.
 
BHP along with the Carlton Trail College in Humboldt have awarded the scholarships to 16 recent high school graduates or returning post-secondary students from 10 schools in the Horizon School Division, worth $2,500 each.

Thirteen youths from six First Nation communities also received scholarship awards totalling $35,000. 

The program has made available over $387,000 worth of scholarships which has supported over 135 students since its inception in 2013.
 
Students are evaluated by the Carlton Trail College who administers the program on BHP’s behalf.
