Youth sentenced in Tisdale break and enter, assault

A 14 year-old involved with a break and enter and assault in Tisdale in November has been sentenced.
 
The youth was handed an 18-month probation along with a two-year firearm prohibition. The youth’s name is subject to a publication ban — a provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
 
The charges stem from an incident on Nov. 23, 2018 when RCMP were called to a residence in the community for a break and enter.
 
The occupants of the home were treated for exposure to bear spray in the incident.
 
The youth was arrested a short time later along with 25-year-old Tyler Waldner.
 
Waldner appeared in Melfort Provincial court on Tuesday, Jan. 15 where his matter were set over to Feb. 19 for defence election.
