Hawks announce leadership group for 2018-19

The Nipawin Hawks have decided the five players who will lead their squad try and defend their Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) championship for 2018-19.

Veteran defenceman Gage Misskey, who was on last year’s SJHL championship team, will serve as the Hawks’ captain.

A program in the Northeast aims to empower women and children through the relationships with horses.

Although this program isn’t about teaching participants how to ride horses. In fact, they don’t ride the horses at all.

Carrot River junior firefighter program opens for high school students

This isn’t the first year the Carrot River Fire Department has held a junior firefighter program, but now it is part of a more formalized process to introduce high school students interested in pursuing the career.

One man dead after highway crash near Nipawin

A crash on Highway 55 about five minutes east of Nipawin has resulted in a death.

One man has died after what Nipawin RCMP is calling a “vehicle vs. pedestrian” incident on Thursday Sept. 13 early in the morning.
