Conservation officers investigating white-tailed deer left for waste near Tisdale

A white-tailed deer buck left for waste south of Tisdale has Melfort Conservation Officers looking for help from the public.
 
On Monday, CO's received the report of the animal that had been found shot on the east side of highway 35, roughly five miles south of Tisdale.

Youth charged in connection to damage to Memorial Garden fountain appears in court

The youth charged with mischief in connection to damage to the fountain at Memorial Garden in Melfort was in court this morning.
 
The fountain was damaged on Sept. 28, and video surveillance footage led to charges being laid against the youth.

Stovel Park vying for community prize

The revitalization of Stovel Park in Melfort continues as the project is vying for funds through Community Futures Newsask.

The annual Challenge 4 Communities is in the voting stage and Elk member Murray Wall is encouraging people to help out.

Melfort Santa’s Helpers campaign looking for new leader for Stuart Eisner Fund

As the Salvation Army’s annual Santa’s Helpers campaign gets underway, the Stuart Eisner fund is making a call for a new leader. The program’s current organizer, Stan Ryhorchuk is stepping down after 14 years in the position.
