Welcome North East Saskatchewan

October 29, 2017 - 4:16pm

About eight years ago, an idea emerged in Prince Albert in the offices of what was Rawlco Radio (now the Jim Pattison Broadcasting Corporation) - to design an online news portal that would do fantastic news, update that news throught the day and night EVERY day and night - and offer it to readers for FREE.

It was at that time that I was brought in to work with the Community Groups and Non Profits who, in the years previous, had steadily declined in large part to lack of publicity. As traditional papers have struggled, square inches of copy has become more valuable - and less likely to be offered to Community Groups.

But we felt that these groups are the grassroots of every town, every village, every city.

So, it was decided to create the Community Group News section of what was to be paNOW.com.

Since then we have grown to enfold the Battlefords, Meadow Lake and now - the North East.

Having been born and raised in Tisdale - THIS is really exciting for me. I had been a reporter in the Tisdale Newspaper from, I think, 1984 until 1990. I was very involved in Tisdale and area events. I currently live in Kinistino and so, I am not far and still very aware of what is happening in the North East and have been quietly adding events from this area to paNOW.com for years.

But now you have your own publication.

Take advantage of all we have to offer.

Look at the pages - all the pages in all the categories. We offer so much it can be overwhelming but, rest assured, there is something there in all the sections for everyone.

To those in community groups: church groups, hockey teams, kids activities, seniors activities - we want your news! Yes, it is true and it is FREE. FREE!

This is hard to believe but it is true.

I want to know what you guys are doing and not just Melfort, Tisdale and Nipawin...but Beatty, Star City, Ridgedale, Connaught, Bjorkdale, Carrot River, Crooked River, Arborfield, McKague, Sylvania, Mistatim, Yellow Quill First Nation and Kinistin First Nation, Porcupine Plain, the lakes and resorts along the way and the many communities I have missed.

I will take news items of events about to come, along with posters. I will take write ups of events that have happened along with up to four photos and even video (but I need the YouTube embedded code). I will happily take information about the meeting you had, the events you plan, the volunteers and or donations you need. I am very interested in your fundraisers and teas and suppers.

In Community Group News I will also offer the readers provincial information from various provincial and national groups.

Contact me at [email protected].

We want your news - now.
