Melfort Fire/Rescue Hosted Regional Mutual Aid Meeting

Dec 8, 2017 | 9:18 AM

Recently, the Melfort Fire/Rescue hosted a regional mutual aid meeting at the fire hall.

Fire Departments from Nipawin, Choiceland, Melfort, St. Brieux, Birch Hills, Naicum, Kinistino, Star City, Prince Albert, Tisdale and Saskatchewan Emergency Management and Fire Safety all attended.

This was the largest regional mutual aid meeting ever held in our area.

The Fire Departments all agreed to work together and help each other out if requested.

It was a great night of networking and we now have a better understanding of what resources all the fire Departments have in our area and what they can offer to assist neighbouring communities in the event of an emergency.

We will now move forward as a group and report back to our municipalities to work on written agreements.

Thanks to all the departments that attended last evening, we are stronger when we work together!! Next meeting will be hosted by the St. Brieux Fire Department in March 2018.

Thank you Chief Brockman.

Stay safe everyone!!
